Data.com Business Contact Privacy Statement

Effective as of January 1, 2018

This Data.com Business Contact Privacy Statement describes the Company's privacy practices for Business Contact Information listed in the Data.com Directory, and other business contact information which may be provided through the Data.com Services. Capitalized terms not defined in this Data.com Business Contact Privacy Statement shall have the meaning set forth in the Salesforce Website Privacy Statement.

Description of the Data.com Directory and Services

The purpose of the Data.com Directory and Services is to maintain and provide up-to-date business contact information. The Data.com Directory contains Business Contact Information and Company Information from a variety of sources. Most Data.com Directory information comes from Data.com Members. However, individuals may add their own Business Contact Information to the Data.com Directory, and the Company may supplement the Data.com Directory with publicly available information or with information from trusted data providers who are legally authorized to provide such information. Social Identifications, which may be included in the Business Contact Information or otherwise provided through the Data.com Services, are currently only available for individuals identified as being located in the United States.

The Company notifies individuals when their Business Contact Information is added for the first time to the Data.com Directory via email to permit them the opportunity to opt out of being listed in the Data.com Directory. Also, at any time, individuals can check to see if they are listed in the Data.com Directory by clicking on "Are You in Data.com?"

Definitions Relating to the Data.com Directory

"Business Contact Information" means any of the following information identified as relating to, or used in connection with, an individual’s business or profession: an individual's name, title, company, work phone number, work email address and work address; and (i) publicly available Social Identifications; and/or (ii) supplementary information that may provide context regarding the individual's business or profession such as business role and responsibility designations (e.g. "Product Management", "Business Development"), that is listed in the Data.com Directory and/or otherwise made available through the Data.com Services.

"Company Information" means information relating to a company, which may include a company's name, address, Web site (URL), phone number, industry classification, employee range, revenue range, stock exchange and ticker symbol information (for publicly traded companies), news and other publications, that is listed in the Data.com Directory and/or otherwise made available through the Data.com Services.

The "Data.com Directory" is the Company's database of Company Information and Business Contact Information.

"Data.com Members" are individuals who register to use the Data.com Services and add (and maintain) the records in the Data.com Directory.

“Social Identifications” are social handles or unique identifiers used to identify an individual’s online activities on social media channels.

Collection of Business Contact Information and Company Information

The Data.com Directory contains Business Contact Information and Company Information which may be obtained from various sources, including Data.com Members, the individual’s themselves, third party data providers, and/or publicly available sources. Non-business information, such as home phone numbers and addresses and mobile phone numbers are not permitted in the Data.com Directory. Important note: signing up as a Data.com Member or a Customer does not automatically add your data to the Data.com Directory.

Notice

When an individual's Business Contact Information is first added to the Data.com Directory, the Company sends such individual an email to notify them that their information has been added to the Data.com Directory, and to provide an overview of the Data.com Services, including the types of information included and maintained in the Data.com Directory, how the Data.com Directory is used, the Company's contact information, and instructions on how to be removed from the Data.com Directory. Individuals can review this Privacy Statement at any time for updates to the Data.com Services.

Choice

Individuals may choose to have their Business Contact Information removed from the Data.com Directory. Individuals may opt out of the Data.com Directory by responding to the email notifying them that they have been added to the Data.com Directory, by following the instructions at "Are You in Data.com?" or by contacting Data.com Support.

Onward Transfer

The Company notifies individuals that their Business Contact Information has been added to the Data.com Directory and may be used by third parties to contact them. The Company offers such individuals the opportunity to opt out of having their Business Contact Information available in the Data.com Directory by clicking on "Are You in Data.com?" or by contacting Data.com Support.

Access

At any time, individuals may see if their Business Contact Information is listed in the Data.com Directory and the contents of such Business Contact Information by clicking on "Are You in Data.com?" or by contacting Data.com Support. Additionally, individuals may update or request the removal of their Business Contact Information in the Data.com Directory by clicking on "Are You in Data.com?" or by contacting Data.com Support.

Security

The Company uses reasonable security controls to protect Business Contact Information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. 

Data Integrity

The Company limits Business Contact Information available in the Data.com Directory to information typically found on a business card, including name, title, company, work phone number, work email address, work address and Social Identifications, as well as supplementary information that may provide context regarding the individual’s business or profession such as business role and responsibility designations (e.g. "Product Management", "Business Development"). Non-business information, such as home phone numbers and addresses, and mobile phone numbers are not permitted in the Data.com Directory.
